OSHA recently released new guidelines based on the control of silica dust on job sites. The purpose of the new standard is to control employee exposure of breathing in the dust. The most common job site materials that contain silica include: concrete, sand, asphalt, brick, tile and other masonry, as well as many stone products including granite, slate, sandstone, and rock aggregate.
